Amateur photography

Pete and I went over to Odell park last night to get some (hopefully) last shots of us before baby is born. We did some digital and some black and white. I was also hoping that hiking around the park would bring on the labour-no such luck! I was to the doctor this morning who swept the membranes to get the labour going...Ouch! If baby doesn't come naturally this week I have an appointment to be induced next Saturday morning.

No baby yet!

Just thought I'd update that we haven't had the baby as of yet. Today is the due date. I was suppose to go to the doctor yesterday to get things checked out but they cancelled and rescheduled for tomorrow morning. I am as ready as I think I can be and and can't wait to meet her/him.

Skiff Lake Fishing Trip

Last Saturday Greg and I headed to Skiff lake early in the morning. We had a great day of fishing. Of course I kept the phone close by in case baby slipp wanted to make an appearance. We caught over 20 bass between the both of us.

Out and About

Not much to report just thought I'd add some recent pics of the past few weeks. I was at the doctor last week and she has predicted the baby to already weigh 8 to 8 1/2 pounds! It shouldn't be surprising by the size of me! Tomorrow I am 38 weeks along. I hope he/she decides to make an early appearance so that I can be physically comfortable again!

Good Byes

Well, tomorrow we pick up the U-Haul and pack up on Sunday. Drive to Quebec city, stay over night and the rest of the journey home on Tuesday. Today is our last day of work. Unusually busy for both of us and really working! Good I guess as it takes my mind off of leaving the big city. As alot of you know I'm taking it harder leaving here than Pete is. I have been crying quite a bit and have yet to show signs of excitement for the big move home. I think Pete is quite confused over it all seeing I cry like this everytime we visited home and had to drive back to Toronto! I guess I don't feel ready to leave just yet, I think we still haven't explored Toronto as much as we should/could have and as much as I know it will be great back home, our life is changing dramatically. Here are a few pics from my going away/shower last Saturday thrown by my girls here who I am going to dearly miss so much. There are a few pics from Pete's good bye work party from last night as well. I haven't spoken to him yet today as he came in quite late for me to stay up but am sure he had a great time! We'll see you in Freddy!

30 Weeks

Pete has been busily packing all our belongings with the big move only 2 weeks away. We managed to find a corner of the apartment that didn't have boxes piled high to take a picture! Here I am 30 weeks/7 months along! I can't believe I have 2 more months of this belly growing! Yikes!!!

Happy Camper!

Well, time has come for us to close this chapter of our lives here in Mississauga and open a new chapter back in Freddy. Yup, today Pete accepted a position as Internal Auditor at NB Liquor commencing June 12th! We will both work the next 3 weeks and on the 4th week move back home. This pic of Pete says it all! This is Pete getting home tonight after finding out he got the job!

More visitors!!! :)

We had the pleasure of having the Lydon's come visit us and sleep over Saturday night. It has been since their wedding since we last saw Greg! We got to meet sweet little Kya...she's so cute! What can I say about Noah?! What a delight! Pete and I just love him! Holly and Greg you have done a wonderful job of parenting! I can only hope to have a child as fantastic as Noah! We were in awe! Noah enjoyed watching the trains zoom by through out our window so we decided to take the go train in to Toronto to get some supper. It was so great spending time with all of you! We loved having you here. Best of luck with the house hunt in Freddy. Here are some pics from the visit.

Easter visitors

Mom and Dad made it up to T.O for Easter. Pete and I hosted Easter dinner at our apartment. Mom and Dad are already spoiling the baby with lots of gifts! :) Thanks so much!!!

Belly Shots 24 Weeks

Pete and I have been busy bees scrubbing the apartment inch by inch, tossing stuff we don't need, packing things up we really don't need out and about until we have a house and making room for baby to move in, in a few months. Mom and Dad are driving up on Wednesday for Easter and trucking in some baby neccesities from Pete's sister Kathy. :) We just got back from Ikea where we bought some space saving shelves and baskets to tidy up the place.

Here are a few updated pics of the belly!

St Patty's day visit

Met up with Normy friday night after work for some St. Patty's day fun. First stop Raptors game. We didn't have tickets so we talked to the scalpers. Normy wheeled and dealed and next thing you know we had courtside tickets. An extra bonus was they were playing the Milwaukee Bucks. $450 tickets for $85! It was a great game and cool to be so close. After the game we hit the steamwislte brewerey for many a beer. We then finished the night in China town for some late night eats. In the morning we had lunch at the St Lawrence Market.

I couldn't believe my eyes!!!

When I saw Claire walk in our apartment last Wednesday night!!!

It was 8:15 and Pete walked through the door. I said "Hello" and he smiled. He then turned around at the door that was opening up. I thought "Oh great he'd brought a work friend home and I look like crap". Little did I know that it would be one of my bestest friends who I hadn't seen in 2 and a half years walk through that door! I was so stunned! I couldn't believe it! They had been planning this for over a week. Claire is back from her long journey in Lusaka, Zambia. Toronto was her first stop then on to Halifax for a job interview on Saturday. Her Mom is the only other person to know she was coming back so she is probably on her way or already has made her surprise to all! :) It was so great to catch up with her! :) Good times, good shopping and good laughter! :) I missed ya Claire! Here are some pics with some goodies Claire gave Pete and I for a wedding present and a baby mobile that I just love!

Baby Slipp at 19 weeks

Here is a pic of the babe. We went last night for the ultrasound and all looks good.
My appointment was for 6:30 and got in at about 6:15. Pete had to stay in the waiting room until all the inspection was done and then they call him in (like they did at week 10) this only took about 15 minutes last ultrasound. As soon as the ultrasound thingy touched my belly the technician says "Oh no, this isn't good" in a very concerned voice. She didn't say anything to me for a few minutes as she looked at her screen. I was like "What the hell?" and finally she said the computer froze and she needed to shut the whole system down and re-boot. "That's it" I said. Coulda told me that instead of "Oh, no this isn't good". What's a 'mom to be' to think?! Jeez!
So while this is going on (20 minutes for the system to re-boot and then another 20 for her to look at all she needs to look at) Pete has no idea why it's taking so long and she finally calls him in to have a look at the baby at 7:10. He tells me he was quite worried...I think this is only the beginning of worrying! :) I got to see the baby yawn(so cute!) and also had a chance to see the gender-We chose not to find out the gender as so many Upper Canadians seem to do. Oh yeah...we're not Upper Canadians! ;)
